Concussion Education Program
Our concussion education program engages with students and athletes to inspire peer-to-peer learning opportunities (reach ahead). All concussion education materials are sourced from the most reputable sources related to concussions, and the content is brought to life through our unique case study break out sessions and multimedia presentation style. Students will leave the concussion education program with a proof of completion certificate for concussion education and awareness that can be added to any resume.

Goal: To provide an interactive educational experience for students to learn about concussions and bring awareness to their peers.

4. To create a network of teachers who share information with one another on the topic of concussions.
5. To facilitate an educational experience where students put new learnings to use within their school to educate peers on the injury.

Program Description
An educational program that provides athletes and students a complete understanding of concussions that encompasses the medical and social aspects of the injury while also touching upon topics such as mental health, holistic health, concussion perceptions, concussion recovery, lived experience and more. Beyond the educational component, our program facilitates peer to peer awareness and education around the injury utilizing traditional and digital awareness tools. This program will act as a proof of completion certificate for “Concussion Education and Awareness” that students will be able to leverage for a resume and CV.

Program Offerings
1st half of the day - (2.5 hours)
In person educational content presentation, case study breakout exercises and Proof of Completion Certification quiz.
Initial quiz to gauge concussion knowledge.
General concussion education.
Specific information about the Sport Related Concussion Experience (SRCE) and the social considerations of the injury.
Case study breakout sessions.
“Concussion Education and Awareness” Quiz.
2nd half of the day - (2.5 hours)
After students complete the concussion education, they will then put their knowledge to use by breaking out into groups to create their own concussion awareness materials for their school.
Breakdown of types of awareness that will be utilized:
Social Media, posters, blogs, websites, written announcement for the PA system, and more!
How the materials will be distributed:
Students will strategically plan when and how they will launch the campaign.
